The recruiting industry is much like the natural world: it’s constantly evolving, shifting, taking on different forms. The consequence is that to remain relevant as a recruiter or HR leader, you have to stay on top of what’s happening right now, to familiarize yourself with the latest innovations, technologies, and hiring approaches. Fortunately, it’s rather easy to do so, thanks to the huge number of talent acquisition events and conventions that populate the annual calendar.

What’s not so easy is deciding on which events to attend – there are so many of them, after all, and each differs slightly in focus. To make it easier for you to choose, we’ve rounded up 10 of the top 2019 recruiting conferences that we consider well worth attending. Open your calendar and pencil in these popular options.

Social Recruiting Strategies Conference (SRSC)

January 30 – February 1, 2019, San Francisco

As its name suggests, this popular event gives recruiters, sourcers and talent acquisition professionals the chance to learn about best practices in the realm of social recruiting from a number of top industry experts. The conference will feature four distinct session tracks focused on a) optimizing the candidate experience, b) emerging technology and trends, c) employer branding, and d) tips, tricks and tools for recruiting success. Prior to the main event, the organizers will also be running a series of interactive, hands-on workshops that deep-dive into relevant topics. Attendees will benefit from multiple opportunities to network with other practitioners and will leave with invaluable insights that can be applied immediately to improve recruiting and hiring efforts.

Recruiting Trends & Talent Tech

February 20 – 22, 2019, Las Vegas

Conference organizers claim that this is the only HR event out there that brings together the art and science of talent acquisition. True or not, it’s worth registering for if you’re looking to build your network and collect practical takeaways you can use to improve your recruiting approach. A range of talks by renowned speakers will cover every aspect of the talent acquisition process, from talent strategy and attraction to identification and selection, and attendees can select the session track that’s best suited to their needs. There’ll also be an expo where visitors can explore the latest recruiting solutions, products, and services.

Unleash

March 19 – 20, 2019, London | May 14 – 15, 2019, Las Vegas

Aimed at professionals looking to unleash the potential of their people, this annual series of events focuses on ways in which HR managers and business leaders can build and support a workforce that’s fully prepared for the future. Two shows dot the 2019 calendar – the Unleash Conference & Expo (March 19 – 20, London) and Unleash America (May 14 – 15, Las Vegas) – and each will cover a wide range of relevant topics, with an emphasis on cutting-edge technology and the impact of AI and digital transformation on the working world. In previous years, speakers included the likes of Simon Sinek, Sir Richard Branson, Arianna Huffington, and Mo Gawdat, and, no doubt, 2019 will serve up inspiration from movers and shakers of a similar caliber.

SourceCon

March 19 – 21, 2019, Seattle | May 21 – 22, 2019, Amsterdam

Known as the must-attend conference for insights on all things sourcing, SourceCon furnishes attendees with real solutions to the challenges involved in finding and attracting top talent (purple squirrels included). At both the 2019 events – SourceCon Seattle in March and SourceCon Europe in May – a number of speakers will share stories and advice on everything from referral sourcing to automation, and sourcers will get to test out new techniques and technologies in Innovation Labs and an after-hours hackathon. There’ll also be lots of opportunities to network with like-minded professionals and meet some of the most talented practitioners in the industry.

HR Transform

March 26 – 28, 2019, Las Vegas

Las Vegas plays host to yet another of the US’s top 2019 recruiting conferences, HR Transform, which is specifically designed for executive-level people professionals, talent partners, and founders of HR-focused startups. Around 200 speakers will address attendees across more than 50 sessions centered on the future of work and how best to prepare for tomorrow using today’s top tools and strategies. All areas of HR will be covered, including onboarding, retention, company culture, and workplace benefits, and there’ll be time allocated to networking, executive roundtable discussions, and browsing the latest, greatest talent acquisition and management products.

SHRM Talent Conference & Exposition

April 8 – 10, 2019, Nashville

One of several annual events run by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), this popular conference and expo is not just a one-of-a-kind learning opportunity for recruiters and HR managers involved in strategy development; it’s also a great way to collect a few professional development credits (PDCs). There are over 80 sessions on the agenda (covering topics like pay transparency, the value of internship programs, and candidate assessments, to name just a few), and attendees can essentially build their own schedule based on their needs and interests. The exposition component is also golden for conference-goers who are eager to get their hands on the latest HR products and technology solutions while mingling with inspiring professionals.

ERE Recruiting Conference

April 22 – 24, 2019, San Diego | October 14 – 16, 2019, Washington D.C.

Brought to you by the same folks who organize SourceCon, the ERE Recruiting Conference takes place twice in 2019 – in April in San Diego and again in October in Washington D.C. The eminent event brings together the best minds in the people business and features talks by renowned speakers, small roundtable group discussions, and hands-on workshops geared at talent acquisition professionals at all levels – the idea is to bring along the whole recruitment team.
